(But because they did not think to remember the site, they found them on, I’m unable to post a link to the talented Chef who created them, if this changes, we will update this post with a link to the site that created these wonderful recipes) Their dogs loved them, which made us decide to test 15 different treat frosting recipes and see which are really the dogs top 5 choices, all to bring you these delicious dog frosting recipes that can be used for any special occasion! They're easy recipes that come with a fantastic variety of delicious flavors, that include yogurt, maple and more! They have been around for years but have passed the test of time and become some of the best healthy delights for our four-legged friends. Here is how to create some fabulous frosting of your own and dress up your celebrations this fall.

The ingredients in these recipes smell so good, so you might want to lick the spoon and give it a little taste for yourself! “We won’t judge”



#1 – Healthy Yogurt Frosting for Dogs

This Will Make 1 Cup

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Note: This frosting dries hard

Ingredients:

½ cup plain yogurt

½ cup tapioca starch

3 teaspoons low fat or 2% milk

Preparation Instructions:

1. Place yogurt and tapioca starch in a small bowl and mix well.

2. Mix in milk a teaspoon at a time until consistency of frosting.

3. Decorate or dip the dog treats. Place on wax paper and let dry.

4. If decorating a puppy cake like treat, use a piping bag or spatula and don’t forget to add some healthy color to your treat.




#2 - Pumpkin Cream Cheese Frosting

This One Makes ½ Cup

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Note: This frosting stays soft.

Ingredients:

1 (4 oz.) package low fat cream cheese

3 teaspoons pure pumpkin

Preparation Instructions:

1. Let cream cheese come to room temperature and blend in the pumpkin until smooth and creamy. You can microwave a few seconds if it's difficult to mix.

2. Decorate using a piping bag or spatula.






#3 – Canadian Maple Frosting for Dogs

Also Makes ½ Cup

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Note: This frosting dries hard.

Ingredients:

1 cup tapioca starch

¾ cup Canadian maple syrup

Preparation Instructions:

1. Place ingredients in a small bowl and thoroughly combine.

2. Chill to thicken before frosting cooled treats.

3. Decorate or dip the dog treats. Place on wax paper and let dry.




#4 - Cream Cheese Frosting for Dogs

Also Makes ½ Cup

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Note: This frosting stays soft.

Ingredients:

1 (4 OZ.) PACKAGE LOW FAT CREAM CHEESE

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

Preparation Instructions:

1. Let cream cheese come to room temperature.

2. Whip with honey until nice and fluffy.

3. Decorate using a piping bag or spatula.

Make it a nice pretty color using one drop natural food coloring or ¼ teaspoon dried powder.




#5 - Mashed Potato Frosting


Will Make ½ Cup

Prep Time: around 5 minutes

Note: This frosting will stay soft.

Ingredients:

3 peeled and cubed gold potatoes

¼ cup low fat or 2% milk

2 tablespoons real unsalted butter

2 tablespoons dried parsley

Preparation Instructions:

1. Boil the potatoes, then drain and mash.

2. Mix in the remaining ingredients.

3. Decorate using a piping bag or spatula.

And it is ok to cheat using 100% real mashed potato flakes to make this. You can also make this with sweet potatoes.
